  • Six Seasons Project Receives Canadian Heritage Grant

    The Six Seasons of the Asiniskow Ithiniwak project has received a grant from the Canadian Heritage Aboriginal Language Initiative Program to assist with the development of the Pīsim Finds Her Miskanow app.

  • Six Seasons Research Assistants Presenting at Indigenous Summer Scholars Colloquium

    Two research assistants–Özten Paul and Thamer Linklater–will be presenting their research on the Six Seasons of the Asiniskow Ithiniwak project this Thursday, Aug. 2 at the University of Winnipeg Indigenous Summer Scholars Colloquium held in room 2M70 on the University of Winnipeg campus.

  • Mavis Reimer Receives ChLA Diversity Research Grant

  • Crowdfunding Campaign for Pīsim Finds Her Miskanow App

    From 2008 to 2013, the Centre for Research in Young People’s Texts and Cultures collaborated on producing Pīsim Finds Her Miskanow, a picture book for young people about the life of Kayasochi Kikawenow, Our Mother from Long Ago, a young Cree woman who lived in northern Manitoba in the late-seventeenth century and whose burial site was discovered in 1993. Now the Pīsim research team has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help create an interactive digital text version of the story.
